The Composting Process...

Benefits of using Compost

The use of compost can greatly enhance the physical structure of soil.  In fine textured soils such as clay, the addition of compost will reduce build density and improve workability and porosity.

When using compost in sufficient quantities it has not only an immediate effect but also a long term impact on the soil structure.

Compost can hold nutrients tight enough to prevent them from washing out, but loosely enough so plant can take them up as needed.

Compost not only adds nutrition, but often makes current fertilizers more effective.

Sites contaminated with various pollutants may be improved by amending the native soil with compost.

Supplies significant quantities of organic matter.
